‘Finley’s Hoops for Homelessness’
When Finley saw tents in Brisbane's Musgrave Park on his way home from tutoring, he couldn't stop thinking about the people living there. That's when Finley learnt about Orange Sky and decided to fundraise to help! Over a month, Finley sunk 3,000 basketball hoops (that’s 100 everyday!) to raise money to make a difference for people doing it tough.
Donuts for Donations
On World Donut Day, OMG! Decadent Donuts celebrated by selling packs of delicious orange-flavoured donuts supporting Orange Sky! They ended up raising over $8,000, providing hundreds more people with access to clean laundry and warm showers.
Jedda’s Open Ocean Swim
Jedda in NSW, who took on the Cole Classic 2022 - an open water ocean swim in Manly! After seeing the event advertised just a week before, Jedda got stuck into fundraising! By simply reaching out to their friends and family, they ended up raising over $1,600 in just 9 days, encouraging people to donate what they'd normally spend on a meal or drink for themselves when going out.
"I’d never done an organised ocean swim before so I was a tad apprehensive, but mostly excited. The support people showed towards Orange Sky through my fundraising page was incredible.”
An Orange Long Lunch!
A long lunch is often a favourite amongst fundraisers, and the Caloundra RSL turned the place orange with their well-attended lunch. The RSL put on a delicious lunch including orange themed drinks and with the generous support of their members and friends alike raised much needed funds to support Orange Sky on the Sunshine Coast.
Zandra’s big day
The community of Orange Sky spreads far and wide, with many of our volunteers also spreading their passion for what we do on birthdays, Christmas celebrations and even their weddings! Zandra has been a volunteer for over six years and when the big day came along, in lieu of bonbonerie for their wedding guests, she allocated the same money towards a donation to Orange Sky to help us positively connect communities.
